Getting to and from the airport
Getting to and from Stockholm-Västerås Airport is easy regardless of whether you choose to travel by public transport, taxi or your own car.
Directions if travelling by car
Stockholm-Västerås Airport is located in Hässlö, approximately 5 km east of Västerås city centre.
If driving westward along E18
Turn off at the first exit signposted ‘Flygplats/Irsta/Ängsö’. Turn left and continue across the bridge. Bear right at the roundabout and then continue straight for another 500 metres or so. Turn left at the signpost ‘Västerås flygplats’.
If driving eastward along E18
Continue eastward along E18, through Västerås and towards Stockholm. Turn off at the exit signposted Flygplats/Irsta/Ängsö. Bear right at the roundabout and then drive straight ahead for around 500 metres. Turn left at the signpost ‘Västerås flygplats’.
If driving southward along road 66
Drive E18 towards Stockholm. Follow the directions given under ‘If driving eastward along E18’.
If driving southward along road 67
Drive Bergslagsvägen towards Skallbergsmotet. Take E18 towards Stockholm. Follow the directions given under ‘If driving eastward along E18’.

There are short and long stay car parks withing a short walking distance of the airport terminal.
The taxi rank is located by the main entrance of the airport terminal. Taxi fares vary depending on what time and day you travel. It is possible to call and prebook your taxi. The taxi driver will then either wait for you outside the Arrivals Terminal or pick you up in good time before your scheduled departure.

Airport shuttle bus – Flygbussarna AB
There is an airport shuttle bus service between Cityterminalen in the centre of Stockholm and Västerås Airport. The shuttle bus service runs in connection with all scheduled flights.

Tickets are available onboard the bus or from the ticket vending machine at the airport. If paying onboard the bus, then payment by card is only acceptable.
Västmanland Public Transport (VL) runs a bus service, bus No. 3, between Västerås City/Central Station and Stockholm-Västerås Airport with buses departing every 10 minutes between 05.55 a.m. and 18.09 p.m during weekdays. Airport transfer bus – Swebus AB

Buss from Karlstad and Örebro
Book Swebus or Bus4U to Västerås Central Station. Then, catch bus No. 3 to the airport. Bus No. 3 runs every ten minutes and takes about ten minutes.
Västerås Central Station offers excellent train connections to a number of destinations. There are hourly and sometimes, half hourly trains to and from Stockholm. From Västerås Central Station, catch bus No. 3 to the airport. Bus No. 3 runs every ten minutes and takes about ten minutes.
